OPEN DAY - JANUARY 2007

As part of the Library's Open Day this year, Gwyneth Lewis conducted a poetry writing workshop for children.

Gwyneth Lewis was appointed the first National Poet for Wales in 2005 and she wrote the words that can be seen on the outer wall of The Millennium Centre in Cardiff.

There was limited room in the workshop, therefore names had to be drawn from a hat, and consequently, children from all corners of Ceredigion took part in the session.

The successful pupils worked eagerly listening, learning and composing. They were asked to write about things they held dear and considered important to them, and also things they really disliked. Their hard work resulted in the following compilation of poems under the title 'Cool Children's Poems'.
